Ro tagged me...

The Liebster Award ... (again)

I've done this before, so in order to not repeat myself numerous times, I'm just answering the questions now.

1. What led you to start blogging?

I used to read a bunch of them when I was younger... bannable-offenses being one, diary of a porn movie clerk is another.  I had thoughts of starting my own one, and it just didn't make sense to me.

Then I started playing the sims and getting into that pretty heavily, and thought it would be awesome to do a legacy family and blog them.  I have the blog, but its empty, and my legacy family has undergone about 12 changes in the last expansions and updates.

Now I use it to share my creations, my reviews, my life.

2. If you could only wear one polish for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Base coat.  A nail strengthening, cuticle nourishing, stain removing base coat.

3. What's your favourite song right now?

Wishing on a star - The Covergirls.  I know its a cover, but its one of the songs that I can pretty much sing word for word... that and Toy Soldiers - Mariko.

4. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A Vet.

5. Aside from polish related activities, what are your hobbies?

Drawing badly, painting, collecting Furbies, Beanie Babies and making things.

6. What's your favourite animal?

Cat.

7. Which is better Christmas or your birthday?

My birthday.

8. What's your favourite colour?

Pink.  And Holo.  And glitter.  And purple/pink/green/blue multichromes.

9. What's your dream holiday destination?

Somewhere warm, but not too humid.

10. How many polishes do you have in your stash?

Oh geeze... Last count was 480+, but I've sorta gained some since then.

11. Would you rather have the power of flight or invisibility?

Flight.

Laughing Cat Designs by Frankie

I used to go to school with a wonderfully funny, clever and charming girl called Francisca.  She introduced me to anime, fueled my obsession with japanese, chinese and korean pop music, and made university lectures just *that* much more exciting.
We worked at the same lab for a bit, although in different departments.

Now she's taken on a huge venture creating custom designed jewelery.

This isn't some grade-school project, this is quality, professional level stuff.  I was wowed when I first saw it.  Frankie has TALENT!

The cutest little package arrived in my letterbox.

With a tiny little package inside.

Not one, not two, but THREE amazing pairs of earrings.

Discrete but also dramatic.  These pink ones are light and really have some shine.

I'm loving the sakura pattern on the white beads.

Blue miracle beads are stunning and I got so many compliments while wearing these.

If you want some of your own, they run between $3 and $5 a pair, but can go upwards depending on what you want.  Send Frankie a message on facebook and enjoy!

Disclaimer:  These were sent to me for review.  Please support NZ artists and shop local.  Frankie is awesome and didn't ask me to say this, and she definitely did not put a gun to my head to say it.  ;)

POST 100!! Also, the conclusion of the Nail Strip Test.

So, it's been a little over a week, but I have just been busy.

A quick recap from the 30th July...

I went to bed with my nails looking like this:

2 days later I got these in the mail:

MY REMAINING ETUDE POLISHES!!

A splash of glitter later, and the mani is "refreshed".  Starting to see some tip wear on the sticker, and even with occasional heating to re-adhere the nail, its still bubbled at the cuticle.

Free samples with this package were a Gold Caviar mask and some lint-free wipes.

And another Ninja Korean.

THE FULL SET!!   Now lets hope they don't decide to release any more of the icecream collection, because I may just have to buy them.

2 days later:

Polish is chipped and that strip is holding on for dear life.

Changed the polish (this is Saturday night now) and decided to go for a duochrome/holo skittle.

Leighton Denny Your Planet Or Mine, Meteor Match.  Color Club Miss Bliss, Blue Heaven.

The strip is starting to lift at the base - I'm getting strands of my hair caught in it when I run my fingers through my hair.

Tuesday 6th August:

I'm done.  It's lost all sticky from the back of the strip - the only thing holding it on at this point is the rest of the sticker.

Tips and chips

You can see where its not attached anymore.

Some serious tip wear.

So, YES!  It survived 7 days.  I work in a very dry environment and it managed to withstand 3 polish changes and being in contact with acetone.

I have another test coming up for them - I'm about to go and spend a week in a spa pool, so we'll see how they handle moisture, heat and chorine!

Thanks Shea from Jamberry for letting me test your companies products.  They were amazing!
