Lust Have It June

YAY!!

I look forward to my Lust Have It box every month.

It arrived at my parents PO Box, so I went down to obtain it, and I was hoping that it would contain some makeup items so I could give my mother a mini Birthday makeover.

Lets get into it!

Not quite makeup... but maybe there is something awesome in here.

Paulas Choice Intensive Wrinkle Repair Serum.
Sample Size: 7ml.

This is a repeat!  It's my "mystery item" from the LHI team.  Because it was a mystery item, I have no pricing on this one, but it is the same that I've had before.

Sasy N Savy Revive Bath N Shower Gel
Full Size: $35 (250ml).  Sample size: $4.20 (30ml).

It smells soooo good.  It smells like something you'd use as part of a pedicure - I guess the peppermint just screams feet, as opposed to body.

Neutrogena Deep Clean
Full Size: $12.99 (125ml).  Sample size: $1.55 (15ml)

I've used this before.  It's a decent product and I've gone back to it again and again, when I'm not trialing something else.

Everyone needs a good gentle scrub in their life, and this one is pretty good.

Neutrogena Cleansing Towelettes
Full Size: $12.99.  Sample: Estimated $3.64 (7 towels)

Another staple from Neutrogena.  These are great for taking on holiday - small, portable and very useful!

Edgy Tempting Cosmetics Eye Liner - Blue Grey.
Full Size: $15

This is gorgeous colour.  I don't have anything like it already.  It matches my eyes so well.

The formula is a little dry, but it's workable.

June box cost: $19.99
June box value: $24.39 (disregarding the Paula's Choice).

I wasn't overly happy with the box this month.  Only 1 full sized item and the value of the box is barely worth the cost of the box + postage.  I guess it varies per person depending on what the bonus item is.

If this was someone's first box, I'm not sure I would continue the subscription, but because this is NOT my first box, I know that there are, and have been, better ones.

November Lust Have It!

Holy photos, Batman!  It's time (well past time) to post the November Lust Have It!

The December one is due to show up in a couple days, so lets get this good time started!

Some good stuff this month!

Ulta3 Blush Stick - Bold Apricot
Full Size: $6.95

This is a cream to powder blush and despite it saying "bold", it's not overpowering.  It seems a little chalky going on, but it blends out to almost nothing, just a subtle hint of colour.

Left side is smudged/blended out, right side is untouched.

It's very subtle.  I think this was 3 or 4 swipes, blending out each one with my fingers.  I guess you could build it up, but its summer, and lets embrace the non-heavy makeup.  Also, freckles.  I has them.

Evelyn Iona Natural and Organic Concealer - Flawless
Full Size: $19.80 (3g).  Sample: $11.22 (1.7g)

This is a very creamy formula and it pretty perfectly matches my skin colour.  The sample size is small enough that I can throw it into my makeup bag and not worry about carrying a huge pottle around.

Can you even see it?  Its there... somewhere...

Coral Colours Love Lips - Peach Sorbet
Full Size: $6.99

This colour is a bit light on me, its OK but not sure I could wear it on the daily.  It is a little patchy when applied straight from the... bullet?  It's shaped like an EOS balm, which just makes me want to rub it all over my mouth instead of trying to actually get it ON my lips.

It's still a pretty colour though.  I'd need to be a little paler I think to pull it off.

Manna Kadar Liplocked Lippie - XOXO
Full Size: $24

I'm a sucker for a good lip colour.

This one is a hard colour to describe.  In the tube it shows as a dark pink-leaning nude, but on the skin it changes into something more mauve, and on the lips its different again.  Application is great, but it tends to catch on bits that need to be exfoliated, and that is something I haven't done in a while.  Naughty Stacey.

Garnier Miracle Skin Cream
Full Size: $19.99 (50ml).  Sample: $1.99 (5ml)

For a daily moisturiser this isn't too bad.  Its light and goes on without a greasy feel.  It has a very strong scent of floral and is tinted.  The whole thing isn't tinted though, it appears to have little beads of colour in it that burst as you rub it in.  You need to be careful to get it all even or else you'll have streaks.

Also, It has SPF15, which is good for daily skin care, but will cause havoc with flash photography, so plan wisely and maybe change it out for a normal moisturiser if you're going out or know you're gonna be somewhere with flashing lights.

I'd buy this in full size.

BONUS!

Stayfree UltraThins.
Full Size: $4.29.  Not sure how many are in a full pack, I don't use this brand normally.

Personally, I don't understand why companies send samples of sanitary products.  I know they fit the "women" section of the bag, but I would rather have a voucher to go get a product that suits my needs rather than the actual product.  In saying that, most of the vouchers we get are for Australia, and we can't use them here in NZ.

Total value this month:  $51.99

Not bad!

OCTOOOOOOBER!!!! Lust Have It!!

We got a pretty cool box this month.

The info sheet was emailed instead of included in the bag.

Does anyone want a post on "Things to do with a million pink mesh bags"?

Atkins Endulge Chocolate Candies.
Full Size: $9 (5 packets).  Sample Size: $1.80 (1 packet)

Looks like m&m's, tastes like m&m's... I'm sold.  Give me more of these.

Flormar Nail Polish
Full Size: $12

It's a pretty bright pink.  2 coats for full coverage, and it dries quite quickly.
I haven't worn it long enough to give it the chip test, and the smell when applying reminds me of dollar store nail polishes - but those ones tend to be the ones that last forever!

Bioderma Sensibio Light
Full Size: $32.99 (40ml).  Sample: $12.37 (15ml)

It has no fragrance and absorbs really fast.  I keep it in my hand bag because I'm guilty of not slapping the moisturiser on straight out of the shower. I think I would've preferred a slightly floral or scented aroma, but that's just me being picky.

Lust Have It Highlighter
Full Size: $29.95 (8gm)

I've never used a highlighter.  I used to use a bronzer, but I think I learnt the error of my ways (applying it heavily with no regard to what I looked like) and decided to leave the bronzing for the nights out.

In that same regard, I don't contour at all.  Adding a highlighter to my non-existent routine isn't really a step I wanted to take.

Mine arrived a little beaten up in the mail - not as bad as the Mellow eyeshadow from a previous box!

A subtle shimmer, very much brings and attracts light to the areas you apply it.  The formula was a little on the chalky side, but it blends out ok on the skin.

Hair & Me Organic Oil Hair Treatment
Full Size: $19.95 (90ml)

This stuff is like a little bag of magic.
I had to put it in the fridge till it reached a creamy consistency (oh, the perils of living in a warm climate) and applied about 4 good palm-fulls to my hair.  My hair is pretty long, so your results will vary.

Bundled my hair on top of my head, waited the length of an episode of American Horror Story, and showered.

It says to wash twice with shampoo, and they really do mean it.  After one pass, it was still pretty oily, and even after two shampoos, my hair (to me, at least) still felt a little weighed down the next day.  It was very shiny and dare I say it, healthy looking!

The formula is pretty much edible - they're all natural oils and it smells like a coconut exploded on your head.  Pair it with a Cosmetic Kitchen Chocolate face mask and you'd smell like a bounty bar!

Pity it can't cure split ends.

Flormar Eyeshadow Quad
Full Size: $30-50 (they didn't list the *actual* product because it could of been one of many many things).

I have hooded lids, so eyeshadows for me are either BOLD and out there, or pretty understated, because at the best of times, you can only see my waterline and just under my brow.

I tried to do a couple of eye looks with this, but the black just overpowered everything.  The white turns translucent and shimmery, but doesn't give enough oomph to pull the heavier colours out of goth territory.

See what I mean about dominating?

Ahhh, the missing Skin Magic tea bags... wait... but there is only one?!

After sending them a quick email, the rest will be in the November box.

With a value of $106.07, this is a pretty nice haul from Lust Have It.

Lust Have It: February bag!

Technically its now April.

Technically I got this box half-way through march.

Lust Have It boxes are $19.95AU per month, and you get 5 (or 6) products.

On with the goodies!

Most of this months products were full size.  That's always a bonus!

Paula's Choice Skincare
Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant
Deluxe Sample: $12 (30ml)

It doesn't smell bad, which is always a good sign.  I used it for a week and my skin didn't really notice much.  Maybe slightly less acne, but then again, I was using a variety of things at the time and I had a couple of really big pimples and less smaller ones.

Your mileage may vary.

Designer Brands
Black Liquid Eye Liner
Full Size: $8.99 (5ml)

It's your typical black eye liner.  I never really use black liquid liner unless I'm going out, cosplaying or experimenting with eye looks.

Designer Brands is a decent brand - commonly available in NZ from most chemists.

I haven't worn it, so I don't know what the wear time is like.

Ulta3
Plum Lip Liner
Full Size: $2.95

Another pretty standard item.  I love a good lip liner, specially for the darker colours that tend to feather.  They can be worn alone for a matte look, or top with a matching lipstick for depth.  You can even mix it with a bit of gloss for a wash of colour.

Ulta3 is becoming more common in NZ, but it's still a little hard to find.

Natural Glamour
2GLO Line Treatment Concealer (medium)
Full Size: $27.95

This is something I can get behind.  The white Line Treatment side has a slight shimmer, designed to reduce the appearance of lines and moisturise the eye area.  The concealer reflects light and covers imperfections.

The colour is pretty good for my face.  This is swatched on my inner wrist (which tends to be one of the most pale areas of your skin, so matches your neck better than the back of your hand).  I wore it with a standard foundation and found no issues with it.

Natural Glamour
Illuminating Foundation SPF 15 - Medium.
Full Size: $29.95

This I'm not too keen on.  For a "medium" foundation, this is really dark.

I swatched it, and refused to put it on my face, purely because I didn't want to insult anyone by going out in public with black-face.

After contacting Lust Have It to see if I could swap the colour, they advised that the concealer + foundation duo were included so we could experiment and have fun with contouring.
The likelihood of me to ever contour, besides a wedding, is highly unlikely.

I will pass this onto my darker skinned friends to try.

Verdict for this month:  It was ok.
$51.89 value for me, because I won't use the foundation.
$81.84 for people who will use the foundation.

I would of preferred something else instead of the foundation and concealer.

Maybe swap the concealer for a contour palette (2 light, 2 dark, suited for most skin tones) and the foundation for a beauty blender.

Lust Have It: December box!

I love getting these boxes.

There is something so exciting about getting Lust Have It in the mail, and I have so much fun experimenting with the goods.

This month:

A gorgeous red and gold bag, specially for Christmas!

Onto the products!

Designer Brands Extend a Brow
Full Size: $12.99

I got the colour Light/Medium, and as I'm dark haired, I will most likely pass this onto my sister who is more fairer than I.

(ignore the unkempt eyebrows...)

It has an interesting texture.  It reminds me of those fibre extension mascaras but without the adhering gel that comes with them.

Yea.  I'm gonna give it to my sister.

Inika Pure Primer
Full Size: $60 (50ml).  Deluxe Sample: $36 (30ml).

Pure Primer contains avodaco, apricot and is certified organic.  That sounds like it should be amazing for your skin, and because its going on before any makeup, its going to have to be good for you.

With my new job starting soon, I'll be wearing more light makeup, so this will get a workout.

Lonvitalite C1 Mask
Full size: $9.95 (1 mask).

I'm a little wary of things that "whiten" skin.  I think in the back of my mind I have this idea that it will remove all the pigment from my face and leave me looking albino.  I know that's not going to happen, but still, the fear remains.

I'm all for trying anything once though!

The Cosmetic Kitchen Raw Chocolate Bath Salts
Full Size: $18.50 (200gm limited edition size)

Raw Cacao and rock salt.  How could this go wrong?  Luckily for me I have a nice big bath, so I can give these a proper test.

Don't have a bath?  They make awesome foot soaks as well!

The Cosmetic Kitchen Raw Chocolate Clay Mask
Full Size: $24.95 (50gm)

So, you're soaking in the bath, and you're surrounded by the aroma of chocolate... how about putting it on your face too!

Either mix the clay + chocolate powder with some avocado and oil to make a seriously moisturising mask, or mix it with water and apply.

Now, where's my chocolate martini to sip while I soak?!

I liked most of the stuff in this box.  I would of preferred something more Christmassy, like a sparkly nail polish, a seasonal lipstick or an item of jewellery to wear instead of the whitening mask.  A SPF30+ product would of even been nice, considering where we are and what season it is.

Total cost of the box: $19.95
Total value this month: $102.39.

Go to Lust Have It to get your own boxes.  They don't do just a beauty box, they do some other ones as well that are just as awesome.
